On the last days of our vacation. I have had such an enjoyable week and I don't want it to end. Tonight we're heading to the brewer game with our neighbors and stopping for supper beforehand. Hope it cools down a bit before then or it'll feel like sitting in a terrarium at the park!
Tomorrow we're heading to The Nutman in hubertus with some other friends. Looking forward to that also.
Tomorrow our twin daughters will be 29! I really , truly can't believe they are that old. I still remember being pregnant with them. It was a rather eventful pregnancy. My mother passed away when I was pregnant with them. It was a very difficult time for us. They were full term even though they were considered high risk because they were twins. They were 6lbs 12.5oz and 6lbs 2oz.... big babies and absolutely perfect. They've grown into lovely young women and I am very proud of both of them. It's so much fun to be with them as adults. We get along well and enjoy our time together.
I wish them a birthday year filled with happiness and love , as always!  If you have twins and feel like your life will never settle down, have faith.... it will! It all passes so very very quickly so enjoy every minute of that chaos! :)

Yesterday my husband and I spent the day in Door County. It was so beautiful up there. 77 degrees and breezy and there weren't the usual crowds.. Not sure why that was, but, we took advantage of it. We had lunch in Egg Harbor and then proceeded to hit the shops...  We , of course, stopped at Wilson's for our usual  ice cream. We ate that sitting down by the water. it was lovely . It's so nice to spend time by ourselves. We don't get that opportunity as often as we'd like.
Today, Jim is brewing beer and then I'm hoping we can hit the casino for a few hours. This vacation has been packed full , but Ive enjoyed every minute of it!

What a beautiful morning. Today we're heading to the Cave of the MOunds with our 3 grandchildren. I loved it as a child and am hoping they will too. They are all very adventuresome, so I'm sure this will be a grand adventure for them.  It's only supposed to hit 75 degrees today, but, it's a constant 50 degrees in the cave.... Sweatshirts for sure. :)
Well, were off.... will post some pix if I get some.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Today , my husband and I , took a nice drive out to Cedarburg for their annual Strawberry festival. I hadn't been to it for a few years and man has it grown! There were sooo many vendors and crafters there... lots of food and music. A great time!  It was pretty warm , though, and  super crowded.  We didn't actually see everything.... just too warm.
Tomorrow, we're going to drive in a different direction and see what we come across. We're taking our grandaughter with us and she's excited about it.  We'll stop for lunch and just enjoy the day. Looking forward to it.

A sad day

Today is going to be a sad day. My best friends mother passed away last weekend and her funeral is today. It's getting harder and harder to say " goodbye" to all these wonderful people.  It's hard to believe that we are now the " older" generation. I no longer have any grandparents, parents, aunts or uncles. Sometimes it makes me feel very alone, but, then I remember my beautiful children and grandchildren and it makes it ok. Like they say" Life goes on"..... we just have to remember to move on with it.
Have a wonderful day!

Vacation...

It's a beautiful day here in Wisconsin. Summer is a short season, usually, for us, so we have to enjoy every warm day we get. The last few days it was in the high 90's and very humid. Not nice! :)  Today; 80s and a lot dryer.
Today is my last day of work and then I have a week off. Still not sure what we're going to do on this vacation and am looking for suggestions. We've been thinking about visiting the Cave of the Mounds with our 3 grandchildren. Haven't been there since I was very young. I enjoyed it then so I'm hoping our grandkids will to. Does anyone have any other suggestions of " day trips" we can take next week?
