Getting Old

Seems like lately, every day, something else either hurts or is wrong. I'm getting so disgusted with it. Today it's a pain on my head that feels like a bruise. Didn't hit it or injure it in anyway. So..... being that it's been going on for about 5 days and getting worse... off to the Doctor I go.  I'm thinking it might be caused from upper back and neck pain I've been having for about 2 months. Hope that's all it is. :(
I know it's normal to get aches and pains the older we get, but, seriously, this is getting ridiculous. There's not too many days that I feel good.
Think it's time to really start taking better care of myself.

It's the second day of Spring and it's still only in the 20's. Last year at this time, it was easily in the 80's! We had our concrete all replaced last March and it was absolutely beautiful out. It never even got cold again. Oh, how I wish that were the case this year.  I'm anxiously waiting ......
The only thing I don't like about summer is the wardrobe. I hate summer clothes.... show off too much of me that I don't want showing. LOL!
So much is going on this spring, starting with  my daughters combined baby/wedding shower in 3 weeks. After that comes her wedding and then the best part of all.... the addition of our 4th grandchild! I can't wait.
Well, I'll try to be patient.... It'll all happen sooner or later....

A new kitchen appliance

I've finally bought a pressure cooker. When we were first married we had received one as a wedding gift. I rarely, if ever, used it. My mother used one all the time... the old time kind that went on the stove and blew up every chance it got! Thats the reason I didn't use mine.. I was terrified of it. Now, 35 years later; I bought a new electric, digital one. I love it!!  Can't believe how delicious the food is that comes out of it. I'm always amazed that it's actually cooked in that short time frame. My favorite recipe is a chicken and rice dish. It's amazing... if you like that home style comfort food. Perfect when it's cold outside and the candles are burning inside. If you haven't ever tried to cook this way; give it a try. It's super fast and delicious. My husband and I were always deciding what to eat at the last minute and that's not conducive to a good healthy meal. With the pressure cooker, you can cook last minute and it's wonderful!  I find we're funning out for fast food a whole lot less than we used to.
My family teases me all the time because I have just about every appliance that's out there on the market. This one, however, is definitely a keeper! They won't laugh when they sample one of the terrific meals that comes out of that bad boy!

some of my cardmaking projects....

Have been trying to use my cricut more in my cardmaking. The cards have been turning out pretty good, don't you think? I was having a bit of a creative block after I cleaned my craft room. Think it was waaaaayyyy to neat. Need a little mess to get my creative juices flowing.

I love making cards!! 

It is such a gloomy day today in Wisconsin. The sky has not give way to the sun in days and it's depressing! I find that I am getting grumpier and grumpier with everyone. Whether they deserve my wrath or not. I'm not proud of it, but seem helpless to make it stop. Don't get me wrong; I'm trying to stop being soo gloomy,but, so far I haven't succeeded. LOL! Guess I'll have to keep working at it.
In the meantime, I'm keeping busy by planning my daughters combined wedding/baby shower. It's all very exciting and I can't wait for all the festivities to begin. This is our last child to get married, so it's rather bittersweet.  The wedding is being planned by my daugher and her fiance. It seems theyre doing a great job. Hope they don't forget anything. :) 2 months after the wedding a new grandbaby will arrive. I feel soo very blessed for that. We have 3 grandchildren now and I thought that might be all we'd every have, but, luckily I was wrong. Our grandchildren are awesome. I'm sure everyone says that about their kids/ grandkids, but, ours really really are awesome. :)
They wear me out and i'm exhausted after having spent the day with them, but, I wouldn't change it for the world. I better start getting in shape so I'm ready for baby #4 when she arrives.... yes, I did say " she".... it's a little girl. So excited!!
Well, I'm off to try to eliminate this gloom and funk I've been in. Maybe I'll go do something " crafty". That usually makes me feel good. My craft room beckons. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

American Idol...

I love American Idol. I have for years. This year, however, it is very difficult to listen to Nicki MInaj. I try to block her out, but, that's pretty hard to do. Today the girls sang. Wow, what a wonderful group of talented singers. Not sure how the boys are going to measure up to them. It must be amazing to have such a great talent. I can't imagine opening my mouth and having that kind of sound emit from it. How does someone realize that they can sing like that? When they're little, do they sing nursery rhymes and sound like a normal little child or do they sound amazing even then? Who knows... but, their parents.
I'll continue to watch because I love music, but, Nicki.... please tone it down a bit!
